At Lee's Academy

The MHS Exhibition Gallery at Lee's Academy (Lower Level) is open seasonally from early June through late August and for occasional special events throughout the year. Check our calendar for hours, dates, and details.
The Madison Historical Society's headquarters and administrative offices and library at Lee's Academy (Upper Level) are open year-round, except that we are generally closed in the last two weeks in December. Our office hours are generally Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. Please note that the upper level is not accessible by wheelchair.

Our historic home in the downtown village district houses our collections. Period rooms are set up to represent five historic periods in Madison history. Currently, we are open for special events days only (see our Calendar for dates and details) or for special tours for groups by special advance arrangement.
