Allias Bushnell House Tour

Since its beginning the Madison Historical Society has relied upon the financial generosity of our supporters. Individuals who are passionate about public history education continue to help our organization by supporting our exhibitions and programs. Individuals who have a special interest in historic preservation ensure the conservation of our collections and the maintenance of our properties. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of donors who contribute to the Madison Historical Society.

Thank you.

Gifts of Personal Property
Many of the precious items in our collection have been given to us by individuals and families who want to share something of historical importance. You may own a Madison artifact that will help us to preserve the experiences of your ancestors while educating others about some facet of Madison's past. Your grandmother's sewing cabinet or your great-uncle's lobster traps--or perhaps an assortment of tools or a basket of kitchen implements--may be just the missing pieces we have been hoping to find.

A member of our Collections Team will be happy to evaluate your family's prized possessions. If they are appropriate, we will be delighted to add them to our holdings. NOTE: The MHS can only accept items with a direct relationship to the town of Madison. Contact our office to begin a conversation.

Special Designations
While gifts to our general purposes are the most impactful to our operations, we do accept gifts to specific designations within our organization. For example, gifts may be designated for our education programs, restoration of our historic properties, or maintenance of our collections. If you would like make a gift to a specific area of our organization, please note your preference when you make your gift. You may also contact our office.
