The Madison Historical Society's members play an integral role in the continuing stewardship of the Allis-Bushnell House, the Lee Academy, and the Smallpox Cemetery.
All of our members are invited to participate in our education programs, enjoy seasonal events and celebrations, and take field trips. Many members also embrace volunteer activities, providing staff support and performing the essential tasks of several important committees. Some members may lead house tours, contribute their expertise to our lecture series, or provide articles for our newsletter; others may assist with such tasks as research and the maintenance of our properties. Volunteer Opportunities
Members at all giving levels receive the same membership benefits. We greatly appreciate and enjoy all volunteer efforts on behalf of the Madison Historical Society, but volunteerism is not required for membership.
If members can only enjoy our programs and support our efforts, we welcome them.
In return for their membership fees and generous volunteer efforts, members receive:
- unlimited free admission to the Allis-Bushnell House and to the Lee Academy
- free admission to our evening lecture series and social entertainment programs
- advance notice of our programs and events
- free subscription to the MHS newsletter, Historical Happenings.
