From I-95, north or southbound
Take Exit 61 (Route 79, Madison/North Madison).
Turn south on Route 79 (right from the top of the northbound ramp; left from the end of the southbound ramp).
Travel ½-mile south to the 3rd traffic light at the Boston Post Road (Route 1).

From points north (Hartford, Middletown)
Take I-91 south to left-hand Exit 20 (Route 9).
Travel south on Route 9 to Exit 13 (Route 17) in Middletown.
Turn left onto Route 17 and travel south through Middlefield and Durham.
Bear left onto Route 79 and travel south on Route 79 to Madison to intersection with the Boston Post Road (Route 1).

To reach the Allis-Bushnell House, turn left on the Boston Post Road and travel 4/10 mile to the white Allis-Bushnell House on the left. The house has a yellow front door. Parking is to the rear of the house. Overflow parking and bus parking is on the Boston Post Road, across the grassy esplanade at the south side of the main roadway.

To reach Lee Academy, turn right on the Boston Post Road, travel briefly toward the town green, take a right turn at the first traffic light onto Meetinghouse Lane, which curls around the Madison Town Green. Lee Academy, at 14 Meeting House Lane, stands just north of Memorial Hall, the large yellow brick building adjacent to the town war memorial monuments. Parking is on the street.
